~ FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) ~
Questions for new or prospective members.
Q: Is the club for boat owners only?
A:
No. The club is open to boat owners and non-boat owners alike. We encourage boat
owners to join to provide non-boat owners with more opportunities to enjoy the
events.
Q: If I don't have a boat, can I still participate?
A:
Yes. Many of the boat owners often invite crew to join them on events. Some non-boat
owners may charter a boat for weekend events. In addition, there are land-sea
events that allow people to arrive by car or boat and/or be ferried to a
location for an event. If you are interested in chartering a boat, but are not
sure of your nautical skills, check with other members who may be willing to
show you what you need to know and/or share the charter.
Q: Are guests/non-members allowed?
A:
Yes. Guests and non-members are welcome at club events. If you have never attended
any events, the best way to find out about upcoming events and to introduce
yourself to the members is to join us at one of the
general membership meetings. Contact the board at acdcboard@yahoogroups.com for the time and location of our next meeting or event.
Q: What is the makeup of the club membership?
A:
Currently, the club membership is mostly (nearly 100% but not quite) gay males. Straights,
gays, lesbians, and others often participate in club events.
Q: Is nudity allowed at raft-ups?
A:
Yes. The club by-laws specifically permit nudity at raft-ups and other club
functions. Not all events are located at sufficiently private locations to allow
nudity, however, nudity is permitted where conditions allow.
